Quinces

Quinces in Central America are very small; they are the size of apricots, unlike our grapefruit-sized quinces in Michigan. They taste the same raw, though, as Joe discovered when he bit into one. They’re called manzanillas, which is, indeed, the same word as that for chamomile.

Aren’t they cute?

I prefer quince jam. Maybe Joe could have dropped some quinces when he was ziplining and then jumped on them to make jam?

Wow! What an amazing sunrise! I really liked today’s pictures–especially Joe on the zipline. Mom

In Hungary where the larger size proliferates quince butter is made out of it – very hard jelly – and it is simply delicious! Has a very pleasant tart taste.
